Live Interview w/ Tom Racine

If you missed it, here’s an interview I did with Tom Racine during an all day live broadcast marathon for the Tall Tale Radio, Indiegogo fundraising campaign. Tom was a very lively and enthusiastic host and made the whole experience quite enjoyable.

Interviews Two

Unexpectedly, Ralf the Destroyer is getting some press on two fronts. I was contacted by Todd McElmurry, who is a contributor for Webcomic Alliance, letting me know he had been reading Ralf the Destroyer and wanted to choose it for his “Pick of the Month”. The article is up now on the Webcomic Alliance website and is a very well written and entertaining summary!

The second interview has been in the chute for a while. Kurt Sasso of TGT Media had originally had me scheduled to do an interview with him on the TGT Media podcast in November but moved it up to September 1st! Kurt is a generous host and I very much appreciated the opportunity to join him on his show and talk about Ralf!

This was my first audio interview, so of course there were some technical issues and I sounded like I’d been drinking Mountain Dew by the pint with Cappuccino chasers, but Kurt was great about it and I would not hesitate to be a part of the show again. The Ralf the Destroyer podcast (#269) is available on the TGT site and on iTunes.

Shout Out – Luke Foster

Fellow Connecticut web cartoonist Luke Foster had a nice interview on the site Champion City Comics. Luke’s web comic Moon Freight 3 has been running steadily for a while now. I also wanted to show my appreciation as when he was asked which Sci-Fi webcomics does he read on a regular basis, Ralf the Destroyer was in the top four. Thanks for the shout out Luke!

Don’t Pick the Flowers

I was recently contacted by David Hurley about doing an interview about Ralf the Destroyer for the blog section of his webcomic site, “Don’t Pick the Flowers”. I was (of course) quite happy to do so and it turn out well.

He asked some good questions and the article looks great so be sure to swing on over to the “Don’t Pick the Flowers” blog and leave a comment!

[ {Zorphah: We're back on "The Ten Most Fascinating Xyoans Special" and I'm here with Ralf the Destroyer.} ]

[ {Zorphah: So Ralf, with your parents strange and sudden disappearance, you turned out to be a completely worthless LOSER, right?} ]

[ {Ralf: I wish my INNER CRITIC would stay out of my IMAGINARY interviews.} ]

[ {Ralf: It was during my time in the Forest of Knowledge that both my parents disappeared altogether.} ]

[ {Ralf: the ONLY way I kept my hope up was that there was a GREATER purpose... A REASON I was going through ALL of this...} ]

[ {Zorphah: Like your parents were crazy?} {Ralf: EXACTLY!} ]

[ {Zorphah: Alone in the Forest of Knowledge, why go there? Didn't you crave personal contact?} ]

[ {Ralf: Not really, I like being alone.} {Zorphah: So what were you looking for?} ]

[ {Ralf: TRUE LOVE I think.} {Zorphah: You can't find true love WITHOUT people!} ]

[ {Ralf: I was searching for a love ONLY two HERMITS could share.} ]

[ {Ralf: Having lost everything and no where else to go, I spent considerable time in Xyo's compendium of data, the forest of knowledge.} ]

[ {Zorphah: What was the FIRST lesson you learned in its hallowed halls?} ]

[ {Ralf: That it's REALLY easy to get LOST in there!} ]

[ {Ralf: Although suspended animation was confining, I found dreams to be a new and unrestrained frontier...} ]

[ {Ralf: It was as though there were no boundries, no one could stop or judge me. I was free to explore the limits of my potential.} {Zorphah: So why did you leave?} ]

[ * ]

[ {Zorphah: I said...} {Ralf: I'm THINKING!} ]

[ While I was in suspended animation, I did something new... I DREAMT. ]

[ It was in these dreams I started asking serious questions... "Why am I here?" "What is my purpose?" ]

[ I mean I could accept even a small part in it things as long as it was a true and meaningful one. ]

[ Eh, who am I kidding? Being only a small part would have been a huge disappointment. ]

[ {Zorphah: We're back with Ralf the Destroyer. So by now you have no peer group and your family keeps putting you in suspended animation...} ]

[ {Zorphah: Was it a lonely time for you?} {Ralf: No, I've always been an introspective sort.} ]

[ {Ralf: It gave me time to think and look deep inside and answer some of life's more important questions...} ]

[ {Zorphah: Like why they didn't love you?} {Ralf: Yeah...} ]

[ {Zorphah: My gust, Ralf the Destroyer. It sounds like your story goes from flying high to rock bottom...} ]

[ {Zorphah: With your parents engaged in other pursuits, what kind of child care did you receive?} ]

[ {Ralf: You mean suspended animation?} ]

[ {Zorphah: Yes, was that a nurturing environment?} ]

[ {Zorphah: So Ralf, when you added the "Destroyer" to your name, what was behind that decision?} ]

[ {Ralf: Actually, it was kind of given to me, because... Well... I "Destroyed" a planet.} ]

[ * ]

[ {Zorphah: YEAH! Nice research GUYS!} ]
